Atomic Timekeeping for Superb Accuracy
The Pathfinder provides micro-second accuracy with multi-band atomic timekeeping that picks up a time calibration signal from anywhere in the world and updates the watch’s settings automatically. Barometro, altimetro, and Thermometer Readings
With the Pathfinder’s barometer, you can predict changing weather patterns as they occur around you. The barometer takes readings every two hours and stores them automatically, graphically displaying the barometric pressure from the past 26 oras. The watch’s altimeter can help you gauge the time you’ll need to reach the summit. I got this watch last week and it’s been great so far. I’ve been using Timex Ironman watches forever and this is slightly bigger but not at all bulky. The barometer has been spot on since I calibrated it. The altimeter worked great on a hill run that I did yesterday. Compass was off by 6 deg, but for a watch that isn’t too bad. Thermometer is affected by your body temp so that’s probably the most inaccurate sensor. The atomic timekeeping is probably the best thing about the watch.
The negatives are that the alarm isn’t that loud and the countdown timer doesn’t have a repeat setting, you have to start it over yourself. Overall though great watch, I would buy it again.
Although the functional aspects of my orginal review remain accurate, I have noted that it is vulnerable to early loss of black coloring from the black coated ring that surrounds the bezel, seemingly without regard to abrasion or use issues. Other user comments appreciated.

This is a very handsome watch & stands out with the reverse LCD display. It is thin but has a quality heft to it. I like the gadgetry & once adjusted, I find them to be as accurate as one can expect from a watch. They’d get you through in a pinch but I already have precision instruments I take up with me when hunting, fishing, or camping so these are really for the coolness factor more than anything else! ;-)
As far as rugedness, this watch is more workplace than campground. The bezel is raised, protecting the crystal from scrapes. My previous watch was a Luminox & it took abuse in -20f weather while hunting. This watch isn’t rated to work in that low of temperature.
I live just north of Denver so recieving the signal is not a problem.
When I recieved this watch I played with it for hours, setting up all the gadgets & displays. I also pressed the light button many, many times & the watch never came off it’s high charge. So you don’t have to worry about it running out of a charge overnight, even after extreme use. It has stayed on high for about a month now, the watch LED shuts down if theres no light or movement to conserve energy. Turns on as you pick it up, pretty slick indeed.
I would like to note that when I initially adjusted my temperature it was on my wrist & I adjusted to match my indoor thermometer, of which it was only a few degrees off. Now when I check the temperature it has been within a degree or so of both home & work readings. Gayunman, when I leave it off my wrist it reads about 16 degrees lower so it must take into account your body heat?
